Last Saturday June 16, another history was made in the entertainment industry. The Mall of Asia Arena, world-class venue for the world-class Filipino talents finally holds its Grand Launch in a music event entitled "Icons at the Mall of Asia Arena". I am still overwhelmed that I was able to watch it live :-)

Performed at this once-in-a-lifetime concert are some of the biggest names in the Philippine music industru from generations such as Lea Salonga, Martin Nievera, Jose Mari Chan, Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, Basil Valdez, Freddie Aguilar, Christian Bautista, Erik Santos, Juris, Jed Madela, Piolo Pascual, Bamboo, Arnel Pineda, Gary V, and the singing group, The Company. The event was hosted by Jim Paredes and Ms. Pops Fernandez, and to make it more entertaining, comic TV personalities Pokwand, Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola were also present at the grand launch, and we really laugh our heart out when they performed.

The Mall of Asia Arena is a celebration of the achievements and glory of the "World Class Filipino", who never gives up in his dreams and the achievement of excellence. The Arena can accommodate 20,000 full seating capacity, and what's special on this arena is that they have what they call Corporate Suites, VIP level services and amenities. Definitely the Arena is posed to become the country's premier entertainment venue. In fact the Icons were very happy that they have a new venue to perform and the facilities were really great, Pop said that the dressing rooms were like hotel rooms.
Mr. Hans T. Sy, President for SM Primeholdings, who was accompanied by his family at the ribbon cutting said "We are very happy to be here at this landmark occasion as the MOA Arena is a testament to the Filipino people and its spirit - resilient and persevering in the pursuit of excellence. Through MOA Arena, we hope to give Filipinos a taste of world class entertainment in a truly innovative and luxurious setting"
Present at the ribbon cutting ceremony were distinguished government officials including Vice President Jejomar Binay, Sec. Armin Luistro and big names in the entertainment industry such as Ogie Alcasid, Jim Paredes, Lea Salonga, Gabby Lopez and Charo Santos of ABSCBN.

Other events Filipinos can look forward to in the MoA Arena are the return of Cirque du Soleil with Saltimbanco, the Yahoo OMG Awards and the E-Plus Teen Assembly, what a fully loaded events.
Having its vision of Changing the Game, Elevating Entertainment, the Mall of Asia Arena will truly be a world-class venue for Filipino people.
