Open the Lines of Communication

Last Saturday our IT team at church had a fellowship and I was assigned to share. I immediately get my bible to check what verse can I share to the team. Until I reached the church I still haven't found a verse, good thing I bought the book I got from Book Sneeze entitled "Jungle Warfare: A Basic Field Manual for Christians in Sales" by Christopher Cunningham. This is a 22-day battle plan and I've shared with them the battle plan for Day Seven and the title was "Open the Lines of Communication" with the supporting verse on Prov. 16:1-9 that says "we can make our own plans but the Lord gives the right answer. People may be pure in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their motives. Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will will succeed. The Lord has made everything for His own purposes, even the wicked for a day of disaster..."

The main point of this is for us to have an open communication to the Lord, He wants us to tell Him all our plans before we even execute it. We often times have plans for our lives right, and we requests those plans to be successful, but how can we be sure that the Lord will grant our request or answer our prayer?? Here's the four (4) questions that can help you examine your motives.
  • Will the issue you are praying about lead you toward truth?
  • Is it pure?
  • Is it loving?
  • Is it kind?
I told the group that if the answers to all four questions are YES, then you can be sure that God will answer your prayer in His own perfect time.

At the end of each battle plan there's a question I asked the group for us to do the sharing. I asked them if: there's a time when you did not commit your plans to God first? What did you learn?  (Please feel free to share your answer.)

Each one of us sited a situation or a plan that they do on their own and what was the result. Almost all of us have the same realization, that even though you have planned it perfectly but you did not commit it to the Lord  first then it will still be a failure. It only reminds us that the Lord knows what's best for us, so let us all be open to Him to share all our plans.

Also let me leave this question for you to reflect: Does God have a plan He wants you to commit to today? Ask Him.

Be blessed everyone!
